What a Great Weekend

This past weekend the weather shined upon us at the Lakeside Inn in Mount Dora, FL for our Weekend Collage Workshop Retreat. What made it a retreat? The students stayed at the Lakeside Inn and had 24-hour access to the studio space. This means that one night Yuri and Leah brought back a glass of wine and worked late. Sandy and Linda came in at 7am one morning to get a jump on the day. Total freedom to make more of your free time! The Lakeside Inn offered an amazing space for the class and accommodations, and the town of Mount Dora offered plenty of shops, restaurants, entertainment, and a steam train ride, all within walking distance.

Lots of Fun!

We always have a good time in my class. I promised Harlee that she would go home happy, even if I had to force it on her! How can you not have a good time when you are immersed in art and good company? Several of my students this weekend came with a friend. Sookhim and Andrea came from New England together, Yuri and Leah are teachers together, Patty and Susie are sisters, Christine and Shauna traveled together from Virginia, and the Famous Five (Harlee, Marci, Shelly, Terri #1 and Terri #2) came from South Florida together. What a great way to spend some quality time with a friend! And many of the students who came alone, went home with new friends, like Patty and Linda.

Until We Meet Again

It was hard to say goodbye at the end of our three days together, we all had such a wonderful time. I hope to see you again, in a future class. Linda has taken the class twice, I met her first in Asheville, NC last year. Anyone can take the class a second time to brush up on their skills, bring an independent project, or take an advanced lesson from me. That way you get to experience the fun all over again!
